Top Secret! Mysterious Work Happening In The Party Room

Big changes are getting started in the clubhouse. Over the course of the next couple weeks you may notice a lot of work going on. Please excuse the mess in the clubhouse. Our handy crew will be updating the Party Room, The TV Room, Game Room and bathroom. Here is a little sneak peek, but this is a top secret project. We don’t even know the details! We can’t wait to see the finished project. The only thing the crew is telling us is that this top-secret project is expected to be completed around the first week in February.

What on earth are they doing in there? The signs say: "Keep Out" and "Top Secret."  Of course, now we're just that much more curious!

Even the game room is getting updated! We're excited to see the completed project.

Take Note - Repaving Project Tomorrow Affects Garage Entrance Access

If you live in the 2300 or 2330 building you'll want to take note of our repaving project going on tomorrow that will limit garage access. The information is posted below:

This Friday we are completing the repaving of your building’s parking lot. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your cooperation as we keep Lexington Heights looking its best.

Parking
From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, residents who park in the garage will not be able to enter the garage. You will be able to exit as normal through the garage exit on the north side of the building. However, access to the garage entry will be suspended during this time.

All residents are welcome to park in the parking lot, but please exercise caution around any work vehicles or construction personnel.

If you have any questions, please contact the Rental Office at 651.452.8826.

Notice: Spring Sweeping For Garages May 8, And Parking Lots May 15

We like to keep Lexington Heights looking great, and that's why after the snow melts we like to give our parking lots and garages a good 'Spring Sweeping'. Next week on Wednesday, May 8, we'll be closing the garages, and the following week on Wednesday, May 15, we'll be closing the parking lots, to give them a thorough sweeping.

It's very important that all vehicles are moved from the areas being swept during the designated days and times. We appreciate your cooperation with this, and thank you for your help keeping Lexington Heights a tidy place to live!

We would never intentionally inconvenience any resident by towing a vehicle without attempting to contact the owner first. However, we will be unable to place calls on these days, so please take note of the following:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 8, 8:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M. – NO PARKING IN GARAGES

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 8:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M. – NO PARKING IN LOTS

Vehicles that are not moved during the scheduled cleaning times will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense without further warning.

Extreme Makeover - Lexington Heights Edition

You've likely noticed some rather dramatic changes to the common spaces in your building. We are renovating the entrances and hallways at Lexington Heights. The 2330 building's transformation is already complete, and the 2300 and 2370 buildings are up next.

We're updating each building with newly painted walls, new light fixtures, carpeting, exit signs, wallpaper, signage, and more. Heck, we're even getting new grocery carts! The Condor staff and a painting contractor have been working very hard on these updates. Check out the photos to see some of the fantastic handiwork  by Evan, Brent, and Ryan. We're excited about the new look!

Upgrades To Clubhouse Require Brief Office and Clubhouse Closure

The clubhouse at Lexington Heights is getting all spruced up with some welcome repairs and upgrades. One of our next projects on the clubhouse is having new tile flooring installed. To accomplish this we will need to close the entire clubhouse from 4:00PM on Tuesday, December 11, to 9:00AM on Wednesday, December 12. During this time the TV lounge, game room, and work out room will be unavailable. The office will be closing at 4:00PM on December 11. We apologize for the inconvenience and we look forward to having the clubhouse open and looking fantastic!

The Clubhouse has received a lot of attention lately - recently we just finished repairing the balcony off the party room that overlooks the pool.

A Nice Walk At Lexington Heights

The next time you stop by the office at Lexington Heights be sure to admire the new sidewalk! We recently tore up the old sidewalk and put down new cement - just in time for the winter months. The new walk looks perfect and fresh, we're willing to bet the soles of your shoes will thank you for taking them for a walk on such nice pavement! We'd love to see you stop by the office to rent a movie, use the exercise room, or hang out in the recreation rooms.

A very dramatic "before" picture.

And "after". Who wouldn't want to walk on such a nice sidewalk?

Some Things Are Very Concrete

Work on the pool deck is progressing well. Almost all of of the concrete for the resurfaced pool deck has been poured. We snapped a photo of the crew working hard to get the concrete laid before it gets too cold!

Coming Soon To Lexington Heights: A Beautiful New Pool Deck

A week back you may have heard the jackhammers, or even now hear the Bobcat front-loader operating at Lexington Heights. We're in the process of building a new pool deck for your 2013 pool season! We've had quite a few projects this summer as we continue to make Lexington Heights a beautiful and well-maintained place to live.

Recently Ryan built two new retaining walls near the 2300 and 2370 buildings, after he had ripped out some overgrown arborvitae trees near the tennis courts. Then, on the first day of the pool being closed Evan, Brent, and Ryan leaped into the pool deck rebuilding project. The first step was to use a jackhammer to break up the old pool deck. Now the crew is working on laying drain piping and rebuilding the retaining wall before the new cement is put down.

Soon they'll wrap up this project and we'll have a beautiful new pool deck to enjoy next summer.

Ryan finishing up the retaining wall by the 2300 building.

Evan gives this project two big thumbs up.

Give Brent a jackhammer and bobcat to play with and he'll smile for a photo!

Dump Trucks And Steamrollers And Front Loaders, Oh My!

If you're a fan of hot asphalt and serious machinery then this is your week to enjoy it. Work is progressing well on our 2370 parking lot resurfacing project. We want to thank everyone who is cooperating by parking on the north side of the building and using the the C building garage exit to safely exit and enter. Just two more days and then we get to see the brand new pavement in action! We can't wait to see the final results.

Check out some cool photos of the large equipment the crew is using on our parking lot.

Major And Minor Repairs Coming To The B And C Buildings

If you live in Lexington Heights' B or C buildings you'll be wanting to pay attention to postings and notices around your building. Both have some repairs coming up in the next week

B Building:
There will be some minor repair to the B building garage entry, please be mindful of the maintenance workers performing the repair.

C Building:
Beginning Monday, July 16, and weather permitting we will be starting the process of resurfacing a large portion of the parking lot of the 2370 building. This project is expected to last through 5:00PM  on Thursday, July 19.

Parking will not be available in a large portion of the 2370 building parking lot until Thursday because the pavement will need that time to cure.

Parking will be allowed along the east side of Lexington Avenue as well as in the other lots at Lexington Heights. Also the C building garage exit door may be used for entry and exit during this time, simply use your remote to enter and drive over the hose to exit. Please us caution when entering the garage!

We would never intentionally inconvenience any resident by towing a vehicle without making every attempt to contact the owner. However, it is impossible to complete the resurfacing of the lot unless it is completely vacant and we may not be able to call you on that day. Please make arrangements to have your vehicle removed from the designated area.

If you have any questions, please contact the Rental Office. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation!

Painting Crew Rises To New Heights

You may have seen "Betsy" around Lexington Heights lately, and she'll be at our community for a little while longer. What's Betsy? It's a 1988 boom truck that the painting crew uses to lift themselves up to the hard to reach places on the outside of our buildings. The painting crew has been working hard repainting patio decks, railings, and replacing patio boards. Be sure to give them a wave and say "High" when you see them around!

Peter, one of our painters, decided that the 1988 boom truck needed a name. he decided the "besty" name for the truck is Betsy!

Peter fancied up Lexington's 2300 building with an "L" made of tape because he could.

We're sure glad to have Peter around! The man is not afraid of heights!

Sweeping Announcement From Lexington Heights

We're always striving to make Lexington Heights a great place to live, and that means sometimes we have to do some maintenance and cleaning, such as sweeping the garages and parking lots. The garages are scheduled for sweeping on Wednesday June 20 from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. It is imperative that all vehicles are moved from the areas being swept during this designated day and time so we can reach into all the nooks and crannies.

We would never intentionally inconvenience any resident by towing a vehicle without attempting to contact the owner first. However, we will be unable to place calls on this day. Vehicles that are not moved during the hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm will be towed at the owner’s expense without further warning.

As a reminder, garages and lots are ONLY for parking vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, etc.); storage of other items are not permitted, by order of the Fire Marshall. If you have any questions on where you may park, please contact the Rental Office.

Additionally we'll be sweeping the parking lots on Wednesday, June 27 from 8:00AM to 7:00PM and parking will be unavailable in the parking lots during that time. We'll post a reminder on this blog as we get closer to that date.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your co-operation. We're sure you'll agree with us that maintaining Lexington Heights helps to make it such a wonderful place to live.

What Style Haircut Should Our Trees Get? Mohawk, Crewcut, or Spike?

Next week on Monday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 15, our trees will be getting a haircut! We're always working to make sure our property looks in tip top shape, and that means each year in the spring we bring out a tree trimming service to make sure our trees are trimmed and looking good. Orange cones will be placed around the property where the tree trimmers will be working. Please note where they are and be sure not to park in the areas designated by the cones. While we don't really think the tree trimmers do mohawks on trees, we're sure they'll make the trees look great.

Evan Takes His Work to New Heights

Recently Evan made a trip to the roof in order to clean the leaves off of the building, so they don't clog up the gutters and make a mess. Thanks for all your hard work, Evan!

The Heat Is On!

Do you know how your heat works?
Steve checking to make sure the boilers are working

At Lexington Heights Apartments, we have baseboard radiant heating. Each building has a boiler room with eight boilers in it that fire in succession on demand. The boiler is fueled by natural gas which heats the water in the boiler, and is then distributed throughout the radiant heat pipes that are located around the base of the walls in  your home.

Radiant heating is an efficient way of heating your home and has the advantage of not blowing air around your home, which is a benefit to those with allergies. Another example of radiant heat would be the warmth of a hot stove-top that is able to be felt from across the room.

As the heat does radiate, it should not be restricted. Make sure that you are keeping furniture at least 6 inches away from the registers and keep the register flaps in an open position. Once it starts to get below 45 degrees, make sure your windows and patio doors stay shut so that the heat pipes don’t freeze and burst.

We know you will have a wonderful winter staying nice and toasty thanks to radiant heating!

Brand New Boiler Keeps B Building Residents Warm and Toasty

The weather may have taken a colder turn this week, but a brand new boiler just installed in the 2330 building will ensure that there will be plenty of water for hot showers all winter long! The boiler was installed today and will soon be running at full capacity to keep up the hot water supply.

If you suddenly begin to experience a lack or short supply of hot water in your home, please let the Rental Office know right away. Your building just might be in need of a boiler tune-up!

New pool fence completed

Our carpenters, Robert, Jay, and Brent, worked hard last week to put up a new fence around the pool and did a great job. Be sure to stop by and admire their handiwork!
