Holiday Lights and Wonders

Here at Lexington Heights Apartments several of our residents have put up some great holiday lights and decorations which are putting us all in a festive spirit. Around the the Twin Cities there are some great places to see holiday displays and cheerful lights.

Macy’s Santa Land Holiday Display

Located on Nicolett Ave in Minneapolis the Macy’s store has an amazing Holiday display that is free to the public. You will find window displays, animated characters, Santa’s Workshop, music, and you can even visit Santa. This has been a Holiday Tradition for 50 years. The display is up through December 24th. Visit www.macys.com then click on events for hours and details.

Holidazzle Parade

Head to downtown Minneapolis on Nicolett between 12th and 4th Streets to check out this amazing parade of lights. Despite the fact that we're in the heart of winter, in Minnesota we like to have a parade in cold and snow. That’s just how we celebrate the season here! Bundle up and head down early to see some floats with Disney characters and Minnesota Twins, plus dancing snowflakes and trees. The parade is free and takes place on Friday and Saturday nights through Dec 21st. This is the last year for the Holidazzle, so don’t miss your chance to witness a tradition that has been in going on since 1992. Visit www.holidazzle.com for additional information about the parade.

Rice Park Lights

Rice Park in St. Paul has an enchanting scene to behold. You can see over 20,000 lights strung throughout the park, look at beautiful sculptures, and ice skate for free. Visiting this wonderland is free and open to the public. Rice Park is located in downtown St. Paul at 109 West 4th Street. You can enjoy the lights from sunset until 10:00 pm nightly.

Lake Phalen Holiday Lights In The Park

If staying a bit warmer is your cup of tea, drive around Lake Phalen in St. Paul. Here you can take a tour through the park with over one million animatronic lights. There is a charge per vehicle but all of the proceeds from the entry fee go to local charities. Lights are illuminated every night through January 1st, from 5:30 to 10:00 pm. Enjoy a variety of light displays, some music and even carolers. Visit www.lightsinthepark.org for more info.
