We would like to thank our Lexington Heights residents who came out to the container gardening class this past Monday night - it certainly was a lot of fun!
Attendees had a good variety of sun or shade loving plants to choose from to fill the patio pot or hanging basket they selected. Jeremiah, a horticulturalist, shared a few tips on design ideas and how various plants would interact with each other to create a beautiful visual effect, plus some tips on caring for the plants. The class was a hands-on experience as participants designed and planted their arrangements.
We're excited to see all those beautiful flowers gracing the balconies and patios around Lexington Heights. And remember, this August we'll be conducting our blooming balcony and patio contest - so whether you could make it to the class or not - if you decorate your outdoor space you'll automatically be entered into the contest with the chance to win the $25 prize. Enjoy the growing season and all those flowers!
