The quaint, little town of Mendota, which is just down the hill from Mendota Heights and close to Lexington Heights Apartments, is having its annual festival, Mendota Days.
Beginning Friday, July 13, this two day event is being held at the VFW post #6690 on Henry Sibley Memorial Highway in downtown Mendota. Tomorrow you can stop by after work to grab something to eat, visit with your neighbors, and listen to the band, Blues 2-11, play from 7:00PM to 11:00PM.
On Saturday, starting at Noon, is the big parade with 30 float entries already signed up. The parade will proceed down the Henry Sibley Memorial Highway through Mendota. Be sure to grab a spot along the parade route for a chance to see an accordion-playing gorilla, Renaissance Fair characters and the Vulcans! Then stick around after the parade to listen to the Dalgren Bros Band play from 1:30PM to 5:00PM. After dinner you can then check out the Beatles tribute band A Hard Day's Night play from 7:00PM to 11:00PM.
Enjoy the sun-filled weekend just down the hill in Mendota!
